Our aim at Herefordshire Advanced Drivers is to help drivers of any age or ability to develop safer techniques and attitudes. Feeling safer and more confident, you will become a better driver. Driving well and being in control means that you (and your passengers) will enjoy your driving more. We approach this by not just focussing on driving skills alone, because we believe that being aware of everything going on around you has greater influence. Come to one of our events and find out how confident and in-control you can become, either one-to-one, or in a group at one of our Driver Refresher Days. No mandatory testing is involved, just practical, friendly advice that will benefit you for life. Please email us and let us know how we could help you.
Background
We are a voluntary service and registered Charity dedicated to
developing safer drivers of all ages in Herefordshire, to a
standard that is recognised nationally as being better and safer
than the average motorist.
Through our affiliation with IAM RoadSmart, one of the country’s
leading Road Safety organisations, we are an Official Provider of
the Advanced Drivers course and we offer the opportunity to
reduce the toll of fatal and serious accidents on our county’s
roads and beyond . . .
Track record
Our nationally approved volunteer Observers currently achieve
around a 98% pass rate for those undertaking the Advanced
Driving test.
Courses are undertaken with you (in your own car) with one of
our Observers, are priced competitively, and cover all the latest
regulations, driving theory and techniques.
We provide practical support, technical advice, in-car guidance
and on-going skills development programmes
Personal Development programme
What makes us different is the friendly impartial advice
received from within the Group.
We organise specific Driving Skills days for both new
and more experienced drivers with specific attention to
confidence-building.
We also run Driver Refresher Days as well as the
Advanced Driving Course which leads to the Advanced
Driving Test and is quality-assured by the Driving
Standards Agency DSA).
Additionally, you can also extend your knowledge,
proficiency and confidence by enjoying individual
mentoring, through observed drives and specially
tailored tuition.
Members gain from becoming a progressively
advanced driver and might qualify for cheaper car
insurance
To keep you in touch with news and latest
developments, we circulate news or articles of interest
by email.
We are always pleased to welcome volunteer
assistance and will readily accept any donations and
sponsorship to help with our work.
